Built by people who’ve done this at enterprise scale — now tailored for the middle market.
Every technique in our platform was built and proven inside organizations managing hundreds of millions of dollars in health benefit spend. We started Benefits Data Lab to bring that same discipline to self-funded employers, brokers, and portfolio companies who never had access to it before.
Middle-Market Employers should have access to the same proven solutions as Fortune 200 Employers. Benefits Data Lab makes that happen.
For decades, the data that determines a health plan’s cost and quality has sat with carriers, TPAs, and brokers — not with the employer paying the bill and carrying the risk. Benefits Data Lab exists to close that gap: we obtain, own, and analyze the data on your behalf, so every decision about your health plan is made with the full picture, not a fraction of it.

Greg Alonzo
Greg sets the strategic vision for Benefits Data Lab. He has over twenty years of experience consulting in healthcare, with first-hand experience across nearly every part of the sector — physician groups, health systems, pharmaceutical companies, carriers/TPAs, PBMs, and point-solution vendors.
Before founding BDL, Greg grew the Healthcare Data Analytics practice at Arthur J. Gallagher — the third-largest employee benefits consultant in the US — expanding its client base 4x, and tripled the revenue of a behavioral health informatics company along the way. He was also part of the team that designed and implemented the data-driven, active health benefits management programs for the Health Transformation Alliance (HTA) — the direct inspiration for founding BDL.
Greg holds an MBA in Management and Marketing from Harvard Business School.

Richard Montgomery Lee
Richard leads Benefits Data Lab’s marketing, customer service, business development, recruiting, and strategy implementation efforts across the U.S., while overseeing a wide range of operational and technology initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, performance, and customer delivery.
He brings a 30-year career of leadership and entrepreneurial achievement to BDL, including co-founding two fast-growing companies, introducing a new product to the cancer treatment market, and co-inventing, patenting, and licensing a high-tech cleaning tool now used worldwide in the manufacture of medical devices, semiconductors, and automobiles.
Richard holds an MBA in Management and Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School.
